The process used to verify that the company records and the bank records are in order is called: Banking Reconciliation, and its used to get all the non accounted records settled.
This settlement is so important that no company will attempt to close without one or, the other case, any auditor will approve without its achievement.
The real problem we're dealing with and even greater in Latin America is that the banking institutions do not use standardized systems to provide information. For example we can get that the code "check" or code "1010" can mean the same concept: check payment
So we have to match the records bank by bank and in some cases account by account, because it may change in the reconciliation process we have to format all data.
